Education level: Diploma

Skills required:

  • Minimum of three years’ recent design working experience which must include finished art
  • Adobe CC: InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat and Illustrator
  • Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • In-depth knowledge of repro and print processes
  • Typesetting and layout skills
  • Basic design experience
  • Ability to follow client campaign guidelines
  • A strong eye for detail, work methodically and accurately
  • Deliver error-free work within strict deadlines, while balancing speed and quality
  • Able to prioritise a varied workload
  • Flexible and able to adapt quickly to new creative briefs
  • Able to follow a design brief closely and accurately
  • Ability to multitask
  • Creative, with an eye for good design
  • Be able to work independently as well as in a small team
  • Friendly, positive attitude towards work
  • Willing to work overtime on the odd occasion
  • Good language skills

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the creative director and senior art directors to interpret and execute creative briefs
  • Finished art and adaptation of artwork to various specs while maintaining creative integrity
  • Retouching, deep-etching, masking, comping, grading
  • Ensure adherence to various clients’ brand / CI guidelines, and ensure continuity of style across client campaigns
  • Implement and maintain all colour and quality standards
  • Prepare print ready artwork for various print processes
  • Check proofs, or preliminary layouts, for errors and make corrections
  • Finalise formatted documents for printing or electronic publication
  • Be an active part of all briefing, brainstorming, creative/art direction meetings
