Nexxus

7Seas – A fresh look

Nexxus, importer and distributor of quality food products, has introduced a new brand of canned mackerel. We were tasked to create a name and packaging solution for the product. This is a highly competitive category with existing products that are well-known and supported. A large percentage of the target market is illiterate therefore the challenge was to come up with a name and a design that was literal yet evocative with a strong marine connection. The design had to be eye-catching and clearly mackerel. The name recommended and approved is Seven Seas and the design is unambiguous.

Gormay Turkey roll

The product was launched just prior to Christmas as a healthy, versatile, white meat alternative for the whole family. The photography on the pack needed to be extremely visible and mouth-watering, depicting the quality, value and accessibility of the product. The launch proved to be a great success throughout the country.

Crown Cheese

Nowadays, young children in our target market grow up with DSTV, the internet, mxit. Their role models, more often than not, have huge attitude and irreverence. When designing for Crown Cheese, a product aimed at South Africa’s young, up-and-coming kids, we created the Crown Cheese rapper mouse; cool, calm, collected; in charge. The implication that you being just as cool when chomping on Crown Cheese, is obvious.

I&J Cape Abalone

Chinese people celebrate food. Abalone is regarded as very special, healthy and a privilege to be savoured at special occasions. The gift pack for I&J Cape Abalone sold in China, acknowledges these sentiments. The abalone shell is a beautiful protector of the treasure inside; a metaphor for the packaging. The line, The world’s best for the most special occasions, recognises the celebratory regard the target market has for the product.

Isotherm

Isotherm is the only insulation product that, by being manufactured from recycled green plastic bottles, has literally gone green. The packaging is therefore transparent so that the cool green hue is clearly visible. The name Isotherm features proudly, as does the mother brand, Brits Nonwoven. The recycle logo further endorses the credibility of the product.
